Brand New Safety Analytics Community – Tuesday January 28th!
Hello everyone,
UAI’s Safety Analytics Community utility leadership team developed the DRAFT Community Charter & Scope below. Participate in the community’s first meeting on Tuesday, January 28th at 1pm MT to provide your input on both. Sign up here.
DRAFT Safety Analytics Community Charter
Through collaboration among Safety, Data Science, IT and Operations professionals across the Utility industry, the aim of the Safety Analytics Community is to reduce Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) exposures and energy hazards by improving data collection, sharing process and methods best practices and identification of leading prescriptive and descriptive analytics.
Members will be invited to share current and planned safety analytics initiatives, lessons learned, obstacles faced or anticipated, and achieved or desired results. Through this scan of utility safety efforts, members will: 1) learn innovative ways to use analytics, 2) understand the current state of utility safety analytics, and 3) envision the future desired state and what is needed to close the gap.
DRAFT Safety Analytics Community Scope
Potential topics include:
- Improve Data Collection (Safety Observation Data Capture; Internal & External Data Sources; Sensitivity and Ethical Implications)
- Leading Analytics Capabilities (Descriptive, Predictive & Cognitive Solutions; Platforms, Applications & Tools)
- Processes & Methods Best Practices (Safety Observation Process; Fatigue Management; Culture, Organization Design & Change Management; Skills, Training, Qualifications)
Note: This community is intended to provide broad coverage across all Utility safety areas, including: Employee, Customer, Contractor & Public Safety; Electric, Natural Gas & Water Safety; Distribution, Transmission & Generation; Fleet, Pipeline, Event Management, etc.
Spread the word. Forward this email to a colleague that you believe would have interest in participating in the Safety Analytics Community.
