    Dear UAI Members,

We have turned on and are now allowing anonymous posting in the “Ask Your Network” forum on UAI Connect. There is a box you can check in the header of your discussion posts and replies to “Post message anonymously”. See visual below for the location of this box.

An image to show where the check box is for posting messages anonymously.

In collaboration with the UAI Connect Ambassadors (a group of your member peers helping make UAI Connect a more engaging, inclusive place to share information and exchange knowledge between members), we thought the members of UAI would like the anonymous post option on the Ask Your Network forum; perhaps helping with any apprehension to post and increasing posts and replies on UAI Connect, which in turn better helps you learn from each other even more. We understand some members may be introverts and uncomfortable sharing in a forum like this when a post is associated with your name, and at other times information may be sensitive, but you could share it if it was not associated with your name or company. So, in an effort to make sharing and exchanging information comfortable for everyone we made the decision to add the “post message anonymously” option.

We still encourage you to post with your name when you feel comfortable. Anonymous posting is for users who do not feel comfortable asking their questions (new posts) or answering posts (replies to posts) under their name. Through anonymous posting, please continue to be respectful and follow the community code of conduct

Posting or replying as “Anonymous” disassociates your name from the post. Anonymous posts will be moderated prior to going live to ensure the post follows the code of conduct. A Prefix will be added to all anonymous posts or replies. Example: “This message was posted by a user wishing to remain anonymous.”

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks so much to all!

    Your member advocate,

         Leslie

    Hi Kim,

You’ll notice that I just looped you in to an email thread with several groups in the Michigan area that may be able to help you.  Feel free to engage with them as you see fit.  I hope this connection leads you to the answers you’re looking for.

    Hi Kim,

At Consumers Energy, we also partnered with a local university to do something very similar with a project they called the “Essential Needs Task Force” (ENTF).  I’m not sure we ever answered the question if payment history can be a predictor of homelessness but the effort sounds similar.  If you’d like, I can get the people involved to take a deeper dive with you if you feel it will be valuable.

    Thanks for reaching out!

We are partnering with our local city government and at least one university to attempt to answer “whether or not utility payment history can be a predictor of homelessness”. I am very interested in connecting with other utilities that have performed similar analysis or that have partnered with local government agencies to tackle issues related to vulnerable or at-risk populations.
