Update, 1:10pm ET Zoom says the fix is complete: “We have resolved the issue causing some users to be unable to start and join Zoom Meetings and Webinars or manage aspects of their account on the Zoom website.”

I will put the following guess out.  Many schools (elementary through university) went back in session today via work from home programs.  Especially in the areas where Zoom went down.  I will also assume that either the elasticity of the cloud failed to adjust fast enough. (physical limit or artificial throttling)
