Kevin: How did you get into the utility analytics industry?

Member: I’d like to say I chose the utility analytics industry, but it chose me.  I worked on my first utility analytics effort for a Midwest utility during my prior life in consulting, and the rest is history.

Kevin: What project have you enjoyed working on most in your career?

Member: There have been so many, it’s difficult to highlight a single project.  I get enjoyment from assembling high-performing teams and identifying ways that analytics affect positive change for our employees, customers and society.

Kevin: What has been your biggest professional challenge and how did you work through it?

Member: I spent years working with fiercely competitive companies in the tech and consumer products industries.  Making the transition to a regulated industry, it took some time to acclimate to the utility business model.

Kevin: If you could go back in time and give yourself one piece of advice before entering the utility analytics industry, what would it be?

Member: Utility analytics is rewarding far beyond the algorithm.  It can support operational excellence, a clean energy future, and continuously improve the safety of employees and the communities we serve.

Kevin: What would you like to talk to fellow colleagues and members about in UAI Connect? Or, what issues or topics would you like to see more discussions on in UAI Connect?

Member: UAI Connect has been a wealth of valuable information, especially Ask Your Network.  This social platform for utility analytics professionals to connect directly is a great way to share knowledge, address common challenges and thrive together as an industry.

Kevin: Thank you so much for sharing with us and for being a highly engaged member of UAI!

Do you have any final thoughts, ideas, or comments you would like to share with your fellow UAI members?

Member: I tip my hat to Kevin, Leslie, Gina and rest of UAI who make all this possible.  Thank you for all that you do – I’ve been a member for several years and look forward to many more.
