  UAI Community Members – Quick Update On Communications Going Forward

  Hello UAI Members,

  I hope all is well! It was great to connect with many of you during our May 3, 2021 Community Conversations and I look forward to reconnecting in June where we already have an exciting schedule planned.

  If you are a member of our Current Communities, you may have already noticed a small change in our communications during May. Due to a recent IT policy change, our communication process for monthly Community Conversations will change; specifically this change will affect how community calendar placeholders are sent out going forward. Please keep reading to learn how this change affects you and the action you will need to take to place a Community Conversation invite on your calendar.

  Starting for our June 2021 Community Conversations, messages will be sent to each community member from the discussion forum on your specific online community via UAI Connect. These messages will act as reminders for Community Conversations, promote our upcoming sessions AND they will now include our calendar placeholders as attachments (this is what’s new!). Previously, I would send these calendar placeholders ahead of time via email, but I am no longer able to send mass calendar invites from my email due to our recent IT policy changes. Because some members rely on these calendar invites to join Community Conversations, we wanted to provide a way for you to still download a placeholder to your calendar if interested. Once you receive these messages via UAI Connect for your Community Conversations, you can click on the attached calendar invite to save it to your calendar. It’s that easy!

  With that said, you will now receive three messages regarding each monthly Community Conversation to ensure you are “in the know”:

   

  1. First message – end of current month for next month: a simple date and time reminder for each Community Conversation with a calendar invite attached. This message will go out at the end of the month for the next month. For example, I will send this simple message out on Thursday, May 27, 2021 for our June 2021 Community Conversations.
  2. Second message – one week prior: a detailed promotion for each Community Conversation, including date, time, session title and description, and speakers/panelists/facilitators’ photos and bios, etc. Again, with the attached calendar invite.
  3. Third message – one to two days prior: a simple reminder for each Community Conversation. This message will include our Microsoft Teams link to join. This same Teams link will also be included in the attached calendar placeholder.
