Itron’s Operations Optimizer
Posted by Nadia Powell on August 28, 2023 at 11:10 amHello everyone and Happy Monday!
EPE is looking at the possibility of utilizing Itron’s Operations Optimizer alongside our AMI deployment. Has anyone used this solution? If so, could you give me some feedback on the usage and functionality?
Thanks very much!

Hello UAI Members,
For this week’s #WisdomWednesday post, I wanted to share a quote I found from Baris Gencel about the importance of knowledge sharing. One of my favroite parts of the UAI community is the williness for members to share their knowledge with one another and thank each of you for your dedication and contribution throughout UAI communities and forums! Please see below and as always, if you have a quote you would like to share, we’d love to hear from you in the reply section.
“Knowledge is power as long as it is shared”

Subject: Wisdom Wednesday – Inspiration to Get You Through the WeekHello UAI Members,
It’s hump day which means we wanted to start another fun #WisdomWednesday thread! Often times with a long weekend coming up, I find myself getting a little more stressed than usual trying to accomplish and get everything done but have found the following quote useful in keeping me relaxed and grounded. There’s no reason why we can’t be relaxed and still accomplish everything on our lists, in fact staying relaxed will only benefit us in the long-run!
“Let go the idea that gentle, relaxed people can’t be superachievers”

does anyone out there have experience using MS Purview for their Data Governance/Data Cataloging/Data Quality efforts? Would be interested in hearing any success stories with this platform.
Thanks,

Hi Nadia!
I don’t have any hands on experience using OO myself but we do have it over here at PHI. What I can say is that for the analytics/reporting needs I’ve had in the past we’ve had more success building our own solutions rather than relying on the data folks were getting from OO. Often times folks are manually pulling data out of OO and trying to use these exports as data sources for in house analytics solutions. However, we’d prefer the ability to connect to our systems (or a data lake environment) directly so that we can automate our data pipelines, connect multiple data sources/systems, and create our own customized solutions that fit the exact needs of the business. Again this perspective is from an analytics/reporting point of view and not the perspective of daily operations.

Well said Evan, in my experience I 100% agree with your assessment. It is more flexible / valuable to have access to the raw data. This doesn’t just apply to OO.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate your feedback. I also agree that it is far better to have access to the raw data for analytics and dynamic reporting.
