Hello Asset Health Analytics Community Members,
I hope all is well! We are just uner one week away from our February (2022) Asset Health Analytics Community Conversation and want to get you excited about the session taking place. On Wednesday, February 23rd at 2:00 PM CT, we will be joined by Pavel Ozhogin, Director, Data Science & Solution Development, and Srikant Vadali, Data Science Manager, at National Grid who will be leading a discussion around, “The Impact of Climate Change to Electric Transmission Assets”. As this discussion will be interactive, we encourage you to come prepared with questions and your insight.
Learn more about this session and our speakers below!
Session Description:
MIT did a study for National Grid where they simulated weather for the years 2025 – 2041 over a broad area that encompasses our service territory in New England and New York. The simulation took one year to complete and provides hourly weather data at a resolution of 3 km. The dataset is 63 terabytes in size and resides in our corporate Azure environment. The data science team at National Grid performed an extreme event analysis of wind speed and icing data to identify electric circuits that are likely to be impacted in the future. Our analysis provides insight on which circuits/assets National Grid should focus on to ensure that our transmission network is resilient to climate change.
Speaker: Pavel Ozhogin, Director, Data Science & Solution Development (National Grid)

Pavel enjoys working in the utility industry, which offers wide variety of data sets, vast use-cases in applying analytics, and most importantly – tangible societal impact.
Speaker: Srikant Vadali, Data Science Manager (National Grid)

Subject: Upcoming February (2022) Community Conversation
Hello Asset Health Analytics Community Members,
I hope all is well! With February just kicking off, I wanted to reach out and get you excited for our February (2022) Asset Health Analytics Community Conversation. I’ll be providing more information on this session one week prior to our meeting but you can always learn more about each of our upcoming Community Conversations on our Events Page HERE.
Our latest IT update allows me to send meeting placeholders directly to your calendars through my alternate email address kpraet@sg.utilityanalytics.com. I sent out invitations for this community, and each of our other communities, last month. If you did not receive a calendar invitation let me know so I can help troubleshoot. As this seems to be an issue with some of our members’ firewalls, we recommend whitelisting my new email address kpraet@sg.utilityanalytics.com to ensure any invites don’t go to your spam/junk folders.
Again please let me know if you have any questions/concerns or do not have a calendar placeholder on your calendar.
Thanks and I look forward to connecting with you all this month!
