I hope all is well! We are one week away from our September (2022) Asset Health Analytics Community Conversation and want to get you excited about the session taking place. On Wednesday, September 28 at 2:00 PM CT, we’ll be joined by the following speakers from Southern Company who will be leading a discussion around, “Remote Asset Monitoring & Analytics”

– Randy Jones, Manager of Condition Based Maintenance, Machinery Diagnostics, Data Analytics, and the Operations M&D Center

Session Description:

The use of Remote Monitoring via a Monitoring and Diagnostics Center to improve asset health and reliability. During this session, Southern Company will discuss some of the methods and techniques used to assess generation and power delivery/Transmission Equipment. These Include Advanced Pattern Recognition, Data Historian Algorithms, Dashboarding, Event Frames and others.

Speaker: Randy Mullinax, General Manager, Performance & Reliability (Southern Company)

Randy Mullinax is responsible for the Southern Company retail M&D Center, remote operating center, equipment performance testing and maintenance strategy development for the fossil fleet. He is currently leading the Performance and Reliability group‘s effort focused on a digital maintenance program. 

Speaker: Nathan Ivey,Engineer, Fleet Strategy, Maintenance, Reliability (Southern Company)

Nathan Ivey supports Power Delivery in the Operations Monitoring & Diagnostics Center with key roles in data visualization, analytics, and reporting for Power Delivery’s CBM program. He began his career with Southern Company in 2015 as a performance testing engineer. In 2018, he transitioned within Fleet Performance & Reliability to the Data Analytics group supporting the Operations M&D Center, specifically contributing to the monitoring of all major transformers across Generation and implementation of the PI data historian. 

Speaker: Seth Courington, PE, Supervisor, Principal Engineer, Fleet Strategy, Maintenance, & Reliability (Southern Company)

Seth Courington joined Southern Company in 2009 as a co-op in the SCS Generating Plant Performance Testing Group. He began full time at Georgia Power Plant Hammond and held the roles of heat rate and performance engineer, fuel burning and boiler system owner, project engineer, Standards of Excellence coordinator, and Root Cause Analysis coordinator

Speaker: Randy Jones, Manager of Condition Based Maintenance, Machinery Diagnostics, Data Analytics, and the Operations M&D Center (Southern Company)

Randy is the Manager of Condition Based Maintenance, Machinery Diagnostics, Data Analytics, and the Operations M&D Center for Southern Company Generation and Power Delivery. He is a registered Professional Engineer, and a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional.
