October Data Science Meeting Follow Up + What’s Next!
Hello UAI Data Science Community Members,
Thank you to everyone who attended our Data Science Meeting earlier in the week on, “Identification of High Voltage Transmission Line Asset Renewal Initiatives Using Structure-Based Information.” For those unable to attend, we were joined by Mike White, Local Relations Consultant at American Transmission Company (ATC), who discussed how he used information at the structure and line level to train models based on a binary classification problem of determining necessity for a t-line rebuild.
Find a full recording and copy of the presentation HERE.
Next month we will be meeting Wednesday, November 18 at 12:30 – 2:00 pm CT for a special 90-minute session on “Technical Machine Learning and Data Science Techniques.” This session will be part of Utility Analytics Week which again is 100% complimentary for members this year (Using code MEMBER20).
Please find more info on this session below and let me know ASAP if you do not have a calendar placeholder.
Session Description:
Whether you know very little about technical machine learning and data science techniques or you handle ML, AI and data science techniques on a daily basis, you will find value in this panel discussion, as it will cater to all audience types, i.e. those that are in management and those that work with machine learning and data science techniques daily. We will take an adaptive learning approach to this session, spending time on analytics and going in “under the hood” if needed, based on the audience questions and direction you take it. Join the UAI Data Science Community for a panel discussion to hear thoughts and answers to the following questions and other questions you may come up with on the fly for our panelists:-
- What are models you are working on?
- How are you getting your models to work?
- Where do you get the data for your models?
- What data are you grabbing to put into your models?
- Is the data internal or in the cloud?
- How do you set-up the architecture for your modeling?
- What is the process like for productionalizing your models?
- Do you conduct code review?
- Bring your questions about ML and data science techniques to this session!
