    Hello Data Science Community Members,

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I’m currently working with a member from Ameren who posted a question to our Ask Your Network Community last week around their TeraData Vantage Migration. Because we’ve yet to see any responses, I’m reposting to this group in case anyone might be able to help/provide insight. See below:

“We are researching a project for Ameren to perform a lift and shift project to move from on premise TeraData EDW to the TeraData Vantage cloud platform.  Ameren is highly invested in the Informatica PowerCenter tool to do almost all of our ETL.  Informatica does not officially support the link to TeraData Vantage, without some agreement that you will migrate to the Informatica cloud tool.  We don’t have plans to migrate to Informatica cloud.  I would like to know if other business’ have come across this issue or have done TeraData Vantage migrations from on premise to cloud.”

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello Data Science Community Members,

I hope all is well! We are just under one week away from our July (2022) Data Science Community Conversation and want to get you excited about the session taking place. On Tuesday, July 19th at 1:00 PM CT, we’ll be joined by @Sean, Director of Analytics at AES, who will be leading a data governance focussed discussion. We will have an official title and full session description on our Events Calendar soon. In the meantime, please learn more about our speaker Sean below!

Speaker: Sean Otto, Director of Analytics (AES)

Over Sean’s career he has had a variety of roles, but at their core they have been about driving analytic data products and leading individuals to execute in a timely fashion for those projects. He has worked in a variety of industries from High Tech, Oil & Gas, Medical, Energy to Aerospace. While all of them have different expertise, the foundational theme has been leveraging AI and ML driven data products to drive reduction in costs, improve current process and create new lines of business. He has partnered with key business stakeholders across the organization to strategize, set vision and define IoT, AI / ML and data product strategies to support repeatable processes to turn raw data into new insights and recommendations that support business objectives, while fostering a date-driven culture. Designing data products is all about working with stakeholders in matrixed organizations to leverage data, technology, and process to support the strategic plan of the organization. He is innovative, creative, and proactive in applying many of the modern methodologies of structured and unstructured data analysis into data products.
