Hello Data Science Community Members,

I hope all is well! We are one week away from our March (2023) Data Science Community Conversation and want to get you excited about the session taking place. On Tuesday, March 21 at 1:00 PM CT, we’ll be joined by Eric Verner, Data Scientist at Southern Company who will be leading a discussion around, “Classification of Calls Using Agent Remarks.”  As this discussion will be interactive, we encourage you to come prepared with questions and your insight.

Session Description:

Within a call center, the label “miscellaneous” is a catch-all for calls that do not fit other categories. However, these calls can be analyzed and reclassified based on agent remarks using natural language processing techniques and potentially be put to use for projects in the call center. This presentation will demonstrate some NLP techniques that are helpful for this use case.

Speaker: Eric Verner, Data Scientist (Southern Company)

Eric Verner works as a data scientist in the Information Management Office at Southern Company, where he provides guidance on data science best practices and builds models in a variety of domains. He has over 20 years of experience in data analysis, data science, and software development. In his spare time, Eric likes to play and listen to music, read books, and spend time outdoors.
