Hello Enterprise Analytics Community Members,

I hope all is well! We are one week away from our September Enterprise Analytics Community Conversation and want to get you excited about the session taking place. On Thursday, September 23rd at 1:00 PM CT we will be joined by Shawn Timbers, IT Compliance and Security Coordinator (Rochester Public Utilities) and Idan Enright, Innovation Process Manager (SoCalGas) who will be leading a presentation around, Power BI Rollouts and Successes. As this discussion will be interactive, we encourage you to come prepared ready to ask questions and share your insight.

Session Description:

During this session, we will hear about these members’ Power BI stories and specifically learn the following:

– How Rochester Public Utilities is using Power BI for compliance dashboarding, which provides insights into a rather complex set of tasks that are highly time sensitive

– A review of SoCalGas’ phase 1 implementation of Power BI at the organizational level with a dashboard for the Customer Programs and Assistance department and where they are going in the future with phase 2, which will include more data sources, manager level metrics and more automation.

Speaker: Shawn Timbers, IT Compliance and Security Coordinator (Rochester Public Utilities)

Shawn Timbers has a bachelor’s degree in Business Finance, a master’s degree in Business Administration, and holds professional certifications in Project Management, Lean, and Business Analytics. Professionally, Shawn has served in Finance roles with IBM, process improvement roles with Olmsted County, and now serves RPU in a variety of IT Security, Compliance, Business Intelligence, and Process Improvement functions. His hobbies are fishing and playing with his four kids! 

Speaker: Idan Enright, Innovation Process Manager (SoCalGas)

Idan started his career at SoCalGas on the Data Analytics team that was awarded the 2020 Best Innovative Utility Analytics Team by the Utility Analytics Institute. At SoCalGas he implemented data driven solutions across the enterprise in business units from Customer Behavioral Programs to Field Operations. He now runs the Energy Efficiency Innovation Process, bringing new and innovative products in the marketplace to SoCalGas rebate programs, where he continues to use data, analytics, and business intelligence.
