Hello UAI Executive Advisory Council (EAC) Members,

During our March 2022 EAC meeting, you may remember UAI providing an update about us modifying the project profile submission process due to feedback we received from members regarding barriers to completing Project Profiles. We are excited to report we have made progress on updating this process and now need your feedback to continue moving it forward.

In an effort to streamline our process for collecting project and use case information, we have combined the Project Profile and High Value Use Case surveys into one form that we are calling the Use Case Collector. The Use Case Collector aims to collect the most essential information about a use case as well as additional optional information.

Our goal with this Use Case Collector is to reduce the burden of submitting a use case to the Use Case Collection library while still collecting enough information for UAI members to find the submission informative. This is why the form is broken down into two pages: page one is required information that must be completed to submit the use case and page two is optional information that is not required but appreciated. We aim for page one to take no longer than 10 minutes to complete and for both pages to take no longer than 20 minutes.

Could you please review of the Use Case Collector form and provide the following feedback?

    • Are the required questions useful and necessary? If no, please let us know why.
    • Do the optional questions provide additional material value?  If no, please let us know why.
    • Is any critical information missing?

Here is a link to the Use Case Collector form: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KZ85926

We will continue to keep you updated on this project’s progress. In the meantime, @Erin, Sr. Research Analyst at UAI, will be happy to answer any questions you have regarding the Use Case Collector and Use Case Collection!

    Thanks!
         Leslie

    Hi @Erin!

I hope you are doing well. I reviewed the Use Case Collector form and had just one comment. I don’t see the need in asking question 4. The form collects the costs (both monetary and resource time) and the benefits. From this data value can be determined by the reader. If you want to get the submitting utilities opinion of value maybe provide a more granular scale than just if its high value or not. 1-10 with 10 being the greatest value? But with this being a subjective question, I’m not sure it matters. Personally, I won’t consider this answer when I’m evaluating if we should copy what they’ve done. The rest of the form looks good.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Mike
