Hello Grid Analytics Community Members,

I hope all is well! We are one week away from our March (2022) Grid Analytics Community Conversation and want to get you excited about the session taking place. On Wednesday, March 16th at 1:00 PM CT, we’ll be joined by Sean Otto, Director of Analytics and Glory Adepetu, Smart Grid Digital Transformation at AES who will be leading a discussion around, “Using Analytics Solutions to Optimize Vegetation Management.”  As this discussion will be interactive we encourage you to come prepared with questions and your insight.

Session Description:

During this session, Sean and Glory will discuss how AES has improved vegetation management as a key way to achieve electric resiliency and affordability. They will speak to improvements AES has made in the vegetation management and forestry area and approaches they have taken.

Speaker: Sean Otto, Director of Analytics (AES)

Over Sean’s career he has had a variety of roles, but at their core they have been about driving analytic data products and leading individuals to execute in a timely fashion for those projects. He has been working in a variety of industries from High Tech, Oil & Gas, Medical, Energy to Aerospace. While all of them have different expertise, the foundational theme has been leveraging AI and ML driven data products to drive reduction in costs, improve current process and create new lines of business. Sean partners with key business stakeholders across the organization to strategize, set vision and define IoT, AI / ML and data product strategies to support repeatable processes to turn raw data into new insights and recommendations that support business objectives, while fostering a date-driven culture.

Speaker: Glory Adepetu, Smart Grid Digital Transformation (AES)

Glory Adepetu leads the strategy development and tactical execution of the digital initiatives that are a part of the Smart Grid digital road map at The AES Corporation. She partners with Operations, Asset Management, Field service, OT and IT leadership to lead deployment of key IT solutions to support their Smart Grid digital strategy. Glory holds a bachelor of science in Electrical Engineering from Indiana University—Purdue University Indianapolis.
