Upcoming April (2022) Community Conversation
Hello Grid Analytics Community Members,
I hope all is well! We are just under one week away from our April (2022) Grid Analytics Community Conversation and want to get you excited about the session taking place. On Wednesday, April 20th at 1:00 PM CT, we’ll be joined by Dan Burgess, Senior Analyst and Mike Diedesch, PE, Manager Grid Innovation Lab at Avista who will be leading a discussion around, “Avista Energy Innovation Lab.” As this discussion will be interactive we encourage you to come prepared with questions and your insight.
Learn more about this session and our speakers below!
Session Description:
The Avista Energy Innovation Lab was built within a Net Zero Campus located at the University District in Spokane, WA. The lab contains sophisticated equipment to allow for simulation and testing of distribution systems. For instance, how would a feeder respond to the addition of batteries and solar. Locating the lab within a campus that contains solar, battery, and thermal resources bridges the operational side to the customer side, which has traditionally been their own centers of gravity. Employee training, data and analytical services, and collaboration with businesses and universities are additional objectives of the lab. This presentation will briefly discuss Avista’s history of innovation, an overview of the campus, an introduction into the lab’s testing capabilities, and finally a few use cases that are currently underway.
