    Hello Grid Analytics Community Members,

    Thanks for attending the September 21, 2022 Grid Analytics Community Conversation! For those unable to attend, we missed you and look forward to seeing you online next month. During this Community Conversation, we were joined by Cara Gilad, Sr. Data Scientist (Exelon Analytics) and Jeffrey Swiatek, Principal Quant Engineer (PECO T&S Analytics) who led a discussion around, “Substation Transformer Preventative Maintenance Optimization using Machine Learning.”

    Next month, our October Grid Analytics Community Conversation will be taking place LIVE and in-person at UA Week 2022. This session, taking place Tuesday, October 18 at 2:15 (PT), will include two parts:

    1. Part 1:“Outage Prediction Using DA Devices and Fault Sensors” – Presentation with Q&A and open discussion led by Tom Mahar, Data Scientist at ComEd.
    2. Part 2: Tabletop Exercise: Debate “Which provides more value to the business: dashboard analytics vs. machine learning/deep learning?”

    1. Utility Analytics 101 Training – Register Today for 2022 and 2023

      2. UAI has partnered with The University of Oklahoma, Data Science and Analytics Institute to develop and deliver training and certification in analytics topics in the utilities sector. We could not be more excited to bring this new offering to the industry!
      3. Register for public classroom, virtual classroom and private group training options.
      4. The training will provide a Certificate of Participation and Completion and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through the University of Oklahoma.
    2. Contribute a High Value Use Case for our Upcoming Repository
      1. The high value analytics use case form is for collecting information about planned, underway, or complete high value analytics use cases.
      2. The Executive Advisory Council (EAC) request the collection of these use cases each year. The collected information is for UAI member UTILITY COMPANY representatives ONLY.

    3. Speak During a Future Community Conversation!
      1. All of our members have a different story to tell which is what makes the UAI Community great! Share what projects you’re working on at your utility by being a speaker during a future community conversation.
