I hope all is well! We are just under one week away from our October (2023) Grid Analytics Community Conversation (taking place in-person at UA Week) and want to get you excited about the session taking place.

In the first topic, “EVs and Grid Analytics: Driving the Future Together,” participants will delve into the synergistic relationship between electric vehicles and grid analytics, discussing strategies to optimize charging infrastructure, manage load variability, and unlock the full potential of electric mobility within the energy ecosystem. The second topic, “FERC 2222: Revolutionizing Grid Analytics for Energy Resilience,” will focus on the transformative impact of FERC Order 2222, empowering participants to explore how this regulatory milestone is reshaping grid analytics, facilitating the integration of distributed energy resources, and paving the way for enhanced energy resilience. Speakers/Facilitators:
Junhui Zhao, Manager of Data Science (Eversource)
Junhui Zhao is the Manager of Advanced Engineering Analytics with Eversource Energy, Berlin, CT, USA, where he leads efforts to explore and demonstrate the applications of big data and AI technologies in power systems. Before joining Eversource, he was a Principal Quantitative Engineer at ComEd in 2022 and was an Associate Professor with tenure at the University of New Haven, CT, 2014-2021. He received a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Wayne State University, Detroit, USA, in 2014.
Po-Chen Chen, Data Science Manager (Exelon)
Po-Chen Chen is currently the Manager of Data Science in the Infrastructure and Safety Analytics team in Exelon Corporation. Po-Chen has background in data science, power system engineering, and IT. In his most recent role at Sentient Energy, he focused on agile product development to develop predictive analytics using waveform classification for outage detection.
Ken McCabe, Sr. Data Scientist (Pepco Holdings)
Ken McCabe is a Sr. Data Scientist at Pepco Holdings – An Exelon Company. In addition to this role, he also serves as Community Engagement Chair for the Washington D.C. chapter of Developing Young Professionals (DYP), an Exelon Employee Resource Group. He holds a B.A. and MBA specializing in Data Analytics & Digital Technologies from Loyola University Maryland.
