Upcoming January (2024) Community Conversation
Hello Grid Analytics Community Members,
I hope all is well! We are one week away from our January (2024) Grid Analytics Community Conversation and want to get you excited about the session taking place. On Tuesday, January 16 at 11:00 AM CT, we’ll be joined by Larry Gasteiger, Executive Director at WIRES who will be leading a discussion on, “Why the U.S. Electric Grid Lags Behind in the Energy Transition.” As this discussion will be interactive, we encourage you to come prepared with questions and your insight.
Learn more about this session and our speaker below!
Session Description:
In order to meet ambitious clean energy objectives, keep up with the demands of an increasingly electrified economy, and ensure grid resilience against a variety of threats, numerous experts and studies indicate the grid will need to undergo substantial expansion, doubling or even tripling its current capacity in the next few decades. But transmission owners and developers face a variety of daunting and intractable obstacles to their ability to expand the transmission system. What are some of the regulatory and legislative efforts to address these challenges, and will they be adequate to meet the nation’s rapidly approaching transmission needs?
Speaker: Larry Gasteiger, Executive Director (WIRES)
Larry Gasteiger, Executive Director of WIRES, oversees the trade association’s initiatives to advance investment in high voltage transmission. Gasteiger works with members to set and pursue WIRES’ regulatory policy agenda, and takes a leadership role in promoting the importance of a robust and resilient grid.
