  January 2021 Natural Gas Analytics Follow Up + What’s Next

  Hello Natural Gas Analytics Community Members,

  Thank you to everyone who attended our Natural Gas Analytics meeting earlier in the month, it was great to reconnect! For those unable to attend, we were joined by Mario Correa (Project Manager at SoCal Gas) who led a discussion around, “Gas Leakage Prediction.” SoCal Gas has had an interesting journey in natural gas analytics and it was amazing to pick Mario’s brain on this topic and hear the input from several other utilities as well. During this discussion Mario took three angles (IT, business, & modeling) focusing on the following areas:

  • Business prospective at a high level view: the business case
  • The IT prospective
  • Different ways the AMI data is being used
  • How AMI is being used for leak detection and proactive customer contact
  • Lessons Learned
  • Next steps

  Next month we will be meeting Wednesday, February 17th at 11:00 AM CST for an interactive exercise “Diving Deeper to Better Understand Your Needs.” This exercise is designed to welcome in new perspectives, new challenges, and ensure that we’re meeting your needs within the growing Natural Gas Analytics Community.
