Hello Natural Gas Analytics Community Members,
I hope all is well! We are one week away from our January (2023) Natural Gas Analytics Community Conversation and want to get you excited about the session taking place. On Wednesday, January 18 at 11:00 AM CT, we’ll be joined by Paul Lam, IT Project Manager at SoCal Gas who will be leading a discussion around, “SoCalGas Control Center Modernization Cloud Analytics Platform.” As this discussion will be interactive, we encourage you to come prepared with questions and your insight.

Session Description:
The goal of the CCM project is to establish and modernized the gas operations control center by integrating existing transmission and storage gas control functionality with our distribution pipeline system. The CCM analytics platform is an integral part of an ecosystem of applications that will provide a comprehensive, real-time view of the overall gas system with enhanced remote monitoring, control, and analytic capabilities.
During this presentation, SoCalGas will discuss the analytics roadmap and present the technology and model details.

Paul Lam joined SoCalGas in 2012 to work on the Advanced Meter software implementation team, where he led the performance testing efforts for critical vendor packaged software. His recent works include leading the development of machine learning solutions that leverage advanced meter consumption data to produce a wealth of applications for safety monitoring, high bill investigation and emergency management, as well as the implementation of a cloud analytic platform built in AWS.
