I hope all is well! With July just kicking off, I wanted to reach out and get you excited for our July (2023) Natural Gas Analytics Community Conversation. On Wednesday, July 19 at 11:00 AM CT we’ll be joined by the following speakers who will be leading a discussion around, “Leak Detection: Where Are They Now?”

Join our panel discussion on “Leak Detection: Where are they now?” as we bring back utility members that have presented on “leak detection” in the past; presentations from 2020, 2021, and 2022. We will explore where they each started, where they have been, and where they are now. We will discuss the current state and future trends of leak detection in natural gas analytics within utility companies. Industry experts will share their experiences and insights on advancements in technology, proactive measures, and leveraging data analytics for more effective leak detection.Discover the latest strategies employed by utility companies to enhance safety, efficiency, and compliance in detecting and addressing leaks. Gain valuable knowledge about the integration of real-time monitoring, machine learning, and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) data in leak detection systems. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with experts and stay informed about the evolving landscape of leak detection in the natural gas industry.Speaker: Mario Correa, Project Manager – Implementation & Deployment (SoCalGas)Mario Correa joined SoCal Gas in 2016. He led and established the first multi-disciplinary team of Data Scientists, Data Analysts and Business Analyst for Customer Services that has implemented big data and operational analytics for the company. He recently established the SoCalGas Model Review Board. The board is a cross-functional, diverse and experienced core group of data scientists that provide guidance for designing, developing, deploying, governing and maintaining machine learning models which support strategic and operational goals of SoCalGas business units.
Speaker: Lauren Crowe, Director, Gas Business Transformation and Improvement (Duke Energy)Lauren Crowe serves as the Natural Gas Business Unit’s Director of Business Transformation & Continuous Improvement. She is responsible for the strategy & execution of the Natural Gas Business Unit portfolio that drives process, technology, & people transformation.

Scott Hixson is the Analytics Manager for Ameren’s Field and Grid Analytics team which builds enterprise analytics solutions to support generation, gas distribution, and electric distribution. The solutions are at the intersection of engineering, data science, and geospatial analytics.
