Hello Natural Gas Analytics Community Members,

I hope all is well! We are one week away from our September (2023) Natural Gas Analytics Community Conversation and want to get you excited about the session taking place. On Wednesday, September 20 at 11:00 AM CT, we’ll be joined by Tim Brenan, Business Analyitcs Manager, Generation at Entergy who will be leading a discussion around,Fueling the Future: Unleashing the Power of Prediction in Entergy’s Natural Gas Generation Fleet.” As this discussion will be interactive, we encourage you to come prepared with questions and your insight.

Learn more about this session below!

    Session Description:

Entergy spends $2-3B on natural gas on an annual basis. To optimize this cost, Entergy’s analytics team partnered with the fuel purchasing group to improve the forecast of how much natural gas is required to power its natural gas units in the MISO day ahead market. Using a recurrent neural network, Entergy has thus far been able to improve the current forecast, saving money on fuel. The project is still under development and is in the process of being rolled out for use across its entire gas fleet. Learn more about Entergy’s business problem, approach, and future value at this session.
