January 2021 Safety Analytics Follow Up + What’s Next
Hello Safety Analytics Community Members,
Thank you to everyone who attended our Safety Analytics meeting last week, it was great to reconnect! For those unable to attend, we had an interactive “Getting to Know You” exercise where community members reintroduced themselves and discussed recent safety analytics successes, challenges, and lessons learned. With our community growing every week, we used this as an opportunity to also connect with newer members on topics they would be interested in hearing in future sessions. Special thanks to Kara Randle (Sr. Analyst at El Paso Gas & Electric) for facilitating alongside UAI’s Leslie Cook!

This month we will be meeting Tuesday, February 23 at 2:00 PM CST for a discussion on “Transforming El Paso Electric’s Safety Culture Through Data Analytics,” with Kara Randle (Sr. Analyst at El Paso Gas & Electric). El Paso Gas & Electric are still within the beginning stages of their journey and transformation. During this session, we will step through their challenges, wins, current state and where they want to head in the short term and long term. As part of the current state, they will also share some Power BI visualizations.

Through this scan of utility safety efforts, members learned innovative ways to use analytics, better understood the current state of utility safety analytics, and closed in on their envisioned future desired state, as well as gained a better idea of what is needed to close the gap to their success.
During 2021, we now want to take a deeper dive into safety analytics. This poll is designed to help us all get to know each other better, understand the use cases you are working on, and your successes and challenges, so we can better plan content for 2021 Safety Analytics Community Conversations that is timely, relevant, and valuable for our members.
We encourage you to take the Safety Analytics Community Poll to help us shape the monthly Safety Analytics Community Conversations!
