    Hello Safety Analytics Community Members,

I hope all is well! We are one week away from our August (2022) Safety Analytics Community Conversation and want to get you excited about the session taking place. On Tuesday, August 23 at 2:00 PM CT, we’ll be joined by @Michael, Manager of Business Transformation and Performance Assessment at BGE (Exelon) who will be leading a discussion around, “Energy-Based Safety and Analytics.” As this discussion will be interactive, we encourage you to come prepared with questions and your insight.

Learn more about this session and our speaker below!

    Session Description:

Exelon is working to change the conversation on safety by changing the fundamental definition of safety. This session will explore the definitions of Energy-Based Safety leveraging the EEI Safety Classification and Learning Model (SCL) including the Energy Wheel, hazards with enough energy to cause a SIF (Serious Injury or Fatality), and direct controls that stop SIF injuries in their tracks.

Speaker: Michael Quashne, Manager of Business Transformation and Performance Assessment (Baltimore Gas & Electric)

Mike Quashne is the Performance Assessment and Business Transformation Manager for Baltimore Gas & Electric. In this role, he is responsible for leadership of BGE’s human performance improvement, corrective action, and SIF prevention programs. Mike is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the Construction Safety Research Alliance. A relative newcomer to the safety profession, Mike’s unique leadership and mathematical background has allowed him to drive innovative solutions to reduce the risk of injury to employees in the field.
