Join Leadership Team – Volunteer Opportunity Inside!
Hello and Happy Friday, Safety Analytics Community Members!
I would like to invite you, yes you (the one over there leading teams and/or working on safety operations and/or safety analytics within your utility), to become a leadership team member for UAI’s Safety Analytics Community Leadership Team.
The leadership team meets monthly on the fourth Friday of every month from 9:30 – 10:00 AM MT (11:30 AM – 12:00 PM ET). You would be joining a team of leaders and practitioners from El Paso Electric, Exelon, Avista, SoCalGas, and CPS Energy. This group of utility member volunteers helps drive and select content for the monthly Safety Analytics Community meetings. It is also an opportunity to regularly connect and collaborate with a tight group of utility analytics professionals (ask questions, get advice, validate).
If you have interest in joining this leadership team, I, @Leslie Cook, would like to schedule a brief call with you to answer any questions you may have and go over the role and time commitment. In the meantime, I attached for your reference a brief description of the leadership team roles and I included below general information about the Safety Analytics Community.
Please reach out to me at lcook@utilityanalytics.com if you or anyone from your team has interest in being a part of this amazing team. Feel free to pass this message on to your colleagues. Thanks!

Safety Analytics Community Charter:
- Through collaboration among Safety, Data Science, IT and Operations professionals across the Utility industry, the aim of the Safety Analytics Community is to reduce Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) exposures and energy hazards by improving data collection, sharing process and methods best practices and identification of leading prescriptive and descriptive analytics.
- Members will be invited to share current and planned safety analytics initiatives, lessons learned, obstacles faced or anticipated, and achieved or desired results. Through this scan of utility safety efforts, members will: 1) learn innovative ways to use analytics, 2) understand the current state of utility safety analytics, and 3) envision the future desired state and what is needed to close the gap.
Thanks!
Leslie
