    Hello UAI Members,

Learn more about “The Business Case for Spatial Analytics“! Join us for our second virtual event in our series of six for the UAI and T&D World “Accelerated Learning Forum: Spatial Analytics for a Resilient Grid“. This virtual event takes place on August 24, 2022 at 3:00 PM CT (1:00 PM PT / 2:00 PM MT / 4:00 PM ET) and will include an engaging and interactive conversation.

REGISTER (Free for ALL Utility Personnel)

This presentation will outline The Lines Company’s key drivers for investing in a LiDAR survey for vegetation management and the arguments presented to support that decision. It will also discuss the conscious compromises made at the time to balance the huge potential of spatial analytics (the many applications of the data) with the relative business maturity at the time (constrained ability to extract that value). Finally, it will discuss how the LiDAR project became a trigger point for a broader business digitization and resource capability change program.

You will hear from Craig Hackett, Network Manager, The Lines Company.

Craig Hackett is Acting Network Manager for The Lines Company, a small electricity distributor in the North Island of New Zealand. Craig has worked in the electricity metering sector for 20 years, including for Landis and Gyr and Mercury, helping drive New Zealand’s transition to smart metering, and later moved to work in electricity distribution in 2015. His work with The Lines Company has focused on asset management and business change. Craig has been instrumental in reshaping the long-term investment program of The Lines Company which has resulted in an approximate doubling the capital expenditure relative to historic levels. He is now leading the companies first steps in its transformation to a digital utility.
