  • Hello UAI Members,

I just wanted to circle back with you on last week’s #WisdomWednesday post and hopefully get some additional feedback/responses. Unlike some of our past Wisdom Wednesday threads, we’re hoping you can reply below and let us know one topic or area you would like to explore more of with UAI. By posting here, you won’t only be helping our team with future program planning but also start good conversation with other members who may be interested in the same area or experts who would be willing to share their thoughts and lessons learned. This will be a great way to get to know everyone a little better and their interests in #UtilityAnalytics

All responses are appreciated, don’t be shy!

    Hello UAI Members,

We’ve made it half way through the week! Being Wednesday, I wanted to share another #WisdomWednesday thread. I really look forward to everyone’s input on this.

In the past weeks, I’ve asked folks to share an interesting project/use case they’re working on internally but today I want to put a different spin on it. What’s one project/area you would like to explore more of within UAI? Maybe this is a specific project/use case or simply “more data science resources.” Your responses won’t only help our team develop relevant sessions and content but may also spark the attention of another member who would be willing to connect directly. You never know who may have the same interests as you or expertese in an area you’re looking to learn more about!

Don’t be shy! What’s one topic/area you’re especially interested in and would like to explore even more of within UAI?

    Session Description:

Telematics has significant value when it comes to safe driving. By collecting, transmitting, and analyzing data from vehicles, telematics systems provide valuable insights into driver behavior, vehicle performance, and road conditions. Telematics plays a crucial role in promoting safe driving by providing real-time feedback on driver behavior, enabling risk assessment and prediction, facilitating emergency assistance, enforcing compliance with speed limits and restricted zones, monitoring vehicle health, and generating data-driven insights. By leveraging the power of technology and data, telematics contributes to creating safer roads, reducing accidents, and improving overall road safety.
Join us for this panel discussion to learn how three different utilities are leveraging telematics to “drive” safer driving habits, making telematics actionable, how they use it and get other people to use it, challenges, successes, and lessons learned.

  • Hello UAI Members,

I hope all is well! I just wanted to circle back on last week’s #WisdomWednesday post and learn more about your work with code. In lou of building out Algorithm Alley I’m hoping utility members will be willing to share some of the work they’re doing with code (whether it’s sharing sample script or a sample workbook). To compliment the great discussions taking place in our Data Science Community, Algorithm Alley is entirely devoted toward the sharing and collaboration of source code. With so many of us working with code on a daily basis, I’m hoping folks will be willing to help us grow this exciting repository.

Algorithm Alley is a utility member resource only. Please make sure any data uploaded to Algorithm Alley is not sensitive or private. Please refer to our code of conduct or reach out to me at kpraet@utilityanalytics.com if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks again and I look forward to seeing your input!

Subject: Wisdom Wednesday – Working with Code? Help us Populate Algorithm Alley!

    Hello UAI Members,

Happy Wednesday (and final day of May)! To continue our #WisdomWednesday theme, I wanted to tie things back to Algorithm Alley this week. For those who may be newer to our community, Algorithm Alley is a resource right here on UAI Connect that is designed to help members share and collaborate on various form of source code. Divided into four main categories (Data Engineering, Data Visualization, Machine Learning Algorithms, and Programming) members will have the option of perusing through different entries while also being able to upload their own content.

For this week’s #WisdomWednesday I want to help grow Algorithm Alley. With so many of us working heavily with code every day, my goal is to populate this forum with examples of script that might help others in similar positions or just begining to get their feet wet. We have a few example posts, along with an introductory video directly on the Algorithm Alley page, to help get you started but please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly if you have any questions kpraet@utilityanalytics.com
