New Analytics Service Simplifies Data Matching and Insights

Powered by machine learning, the service helps companies match and link records stored across various applications, channels, and data stores

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the availability of AWS Entity Resolution, a machine learning-powered analytics service designed to help organizations analyze, match, and link related records stored across various applications, channels, and data sources.

The service offers customizable workflows that combine rule-based and machine-learning techniques to connect consumer, business, and product information. Developers and business analysts can enhance data quality using preconfigured workflows or customize them to their specific requirements. AWS Entity Resolution enables businesses to gain deeper insights into their data relationships, improving supply chain operations, customer understanding, targeted marketing, and financial decision-making.

AWS also disclosed plans to integrate two entity resolution partner integrations with TransUnion and LiveRamp, along with compatibility with the Unified ID 2.0 open-source framework. These integrations aim to simplify data translation and enrichment while safeguarding data privacy. AWS Entity Resolution is accessible through the company’s website.

In today’s data landscape, information regarding products, businesses, and customers is often fragmented across multiple applications and platforms. Companies often need to link records to gain insights into consumer behavior or other critical data points. This typically requires complex data pipelines, external partnerships, and substantial development efforts.

AWS Entity Resolution simplifies the process by enabling rapid matching and linking of records across diverse data sources. Users can customize rule-based workflows easily, even when dealing with incomplete data. The service can be used in various scenarios, such as fraud prevention in financial services or customer interaction analysis in the airline industry. It offers a unified view of data, empowering organizations to make informed decisions.

“With a few clicks, AWS Entity Resolution makes it easy for organizations to match records and link workflows that are flexible, scalable, and easily connect to existing applications, enabling faster and more comprehensive views of their data to unlock its value and improve business outcomes,” said Dilip Kumar, Vice President of AWS Applications. “Together with the broad AWS portfolio of analytics solutions, AWS Entity Resolution makes matching and linking data from multiple data lakes and data stores easier, helping customers keep their data where it lives, and contributing to a zero-ETL future.”

AWS Entity Resolution is now available in Ohio, Northern Virginia, and Oregon in the US; Seoul in South Korea; Singapore; Sydney in Australia; Tokyo in Japan; Frankfurt in Germany; Ireland; and London in the UK. It is expected to be available in additional AWS regions soon.
