New Cloud Infrastructure Solution Empowers Flexible Workload Management

Enabling customers to achieve their strategic cloud business objectives while allowing them to address data residency requirements

 

Oracle has introduced Oracle Compute Cloud@Customer, a cloud infrastructure solution that allows firms to utilize Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) compute services across various locations. With the new solution, customers can develop, secure, deploy, and manage workloads using the same software stack found in OCI, even for smaller deployments.

The solution also allows organizations to run applications and middleware using OCI compute, storage, and networking services within their own data centers. According to the company, this integration is ideal for workloads tightly integrated with Oracle databases, especially when combined with Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer.

“Oracle provides a choice of OCI public cloud regions, Dedicated Region, and Cloud@Customer platforms that customers can combine to create a globally distributed cloud solution,” said Edward Screven, Chief Corporate Architect, Oracle. “This choice makes it easy for customers to achieve their strategic cloud business objectives while enabling them to address data residency requirements and to access high-performance connections to existing data center and latency-sensitive applications.”

Oracle Compute Cloud@Customer is designed for high performance and high availability, accommodating various organization sizes and distributed cloud deployment scenarios. Starting with 552 processor cores and 150 TB of usable storage, it can scale compute and storage independently to more than 6,000 processor cores and 3.4 PB of storage capacity.

The new solution is a fully integrated cloud platform owned and managed by Oracle, unlike on-premises offerings from other cloud providers that often rely on third-party components. It is compatible with OCI public cloud regions and OCI Dedicated Region, delivering the same core OCI cloud services at the same low pricing. This approach minimizes maintenance and upgrade burdens for customers, allowing them to develop and run cloud-native applications in diverse locations.

Data on Compute Cloud@Customer is encrypted to enhance security, while the OCI Console allows organizations to control data locality, replication, and backups fully. This ensures compliance with data residency and privacy requirements. Additionally, organizations using OCI-based authorization and authentication can seamlessly integrate the new solution into their OCI tenancy, creating a unified environment across on-premises and OCI Region data centers.
